What Is It?

Flanged Ball Valves are valves which are mounted to the pipeline by flanges. This assembly is used in above ground installations for gas transmission. RMG by Honeywell offers five models in this category:

BVk – A bi-directional ball valve with a welded, inseparable steel body.
BVn – A bi-directional ball valve with a welded, inseparable steel body.
KOK – Flanged ball valve which comprises a steel body, two screwed connection pieces and two loose flanges.
KDK/KDKa – A bi-directional ball valve with two steel castings connected by bolts.
NOK – Flanged ball valve with valve spindle mounted either on the inside or outside and secured with a flange.
These valves are used across a wide range of gas applications and in sectors where resistance to aggressive media such as saline (underground gas storage), biogas is required.

How Does It Work?

Flanged Ball Valves are bi-directional ball valves with full bore and can be mounted in any position. The ball valve body consists of two steel castings connected by bolts or welded permanently. The valve spindle meets anti-blow-out requirements and is mounted inside or outside the body. The valve spindle has a fire-resistant, multi-stage sealing package which enables the users to safely exchange the upper sealing components without interrupting the operation. These valves have both «floating» type balls and balls fixed with pins on both sides. The ball and valve spindle are connected by a universal joint coupling. In addition, the ball sealing comes with spring compensation.

What Problems Does It Solve?

Lack of proper gas transmission and distribution can lead to inefficient performance of the gas systems. The Flanged Ball Valves from RMG by Honeywell ensures an effective flow of gas into the system, assuring maximum safety levels.
