What Is It?
Welded Ball Valves are ideal for extraction, underground transmission and distribution of gas. In this assembly the ball valves are welded to the pipeline permanently. They are used across a wide range of gas flow applications and come with ball sizes ranging from DN 25 to DN 500. RMG by Honeywell offers four models in this category:
BVs – Full way, bidirectional ball valve may be installed in any position. The valve body is made from a steel frame welded into a uniform, un-dismountable part. The ball is situated in a “floating” manner between the gaskets mounted in the compensation rings.
KDS/KDSa – A full bore, bi-directional ball valve, mountable in any position. The valve body is made of two cast iron castings joined with bolts. The stem features a blow-out protection and is mounted on the inside of the body. Moreover the stem features a multi-stage sealing system with a fireproof packing.
NOS – A full bore, bi-directional ball valve that can be mounted in any position. The valve housing is a steel, welded unit that cannot be disassembled. The stem is protected against blowing off and mounted either on the inside or the outside of the body with a protective flange. Moreover the stem features a multi-stage sealing system with a fireproof packing. The upper seal can be replaced while the valve is in operation. Depending on the valve size and pressure, the ball either “floats” or is set in trunnions.
How Does It Work?
Welded Ball Valves are bi-directional ball valves with full bore and can be mounted in any position. The ball valve body consists of two steel castings connected by bolts or welded permanently. The valve spindle meets anti-blow-out requirements and is mounted inside or outside the body. The valve spindle has a fire-resistant, multi-stage sealing package which enables the users to safely exchange the upper sealing without interrupting the operation. These valves have both «floating» type balls and balls fixed with pins on both sides. The ball and valve spindle are connected by means of a universal joint coupling. In addition, the ball sealing comes with spring compensation.
What Problems Does It Solve?
Gas transmission and distribution in an underground environment can become a cumbersome and costly affair. The Welded Ball Valves from RMG by Honeywell provide a permanent solution for maintaining effective flow of gas ensuring maximum safety levels even in harsh environments.
